Amol Mehra, is a recognized leader in the field of business and human rights, and currently serves as the Director of Industry Programmes at Laudes Foundation. In his role, Amol oversees global programmes and teams to deploy philanthropic funding across the built environment, fashion, finance and labor rights to inspire and challenge industry to transition to a green, fair and inclusive economy. Amol also serves on the Management Team of the foundation.
Previously, Amol was Managing Director of the Freedom Fund, a major philanthropic entity in the global movement to end modern slavery and served as founding Executive Director of the International Corporate Accountability Roundtable (ICAR), a leading human rights organization harnessing the collective power of progressive organizations to push governments to create and enforce rules over corporations that promote human rights and reduce inequality.
Amol serves as a Founding Member of Funders Organized for Rights in the Global Economy ("FORGE"), a Board Member of the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, a Board Member of EarthRights International, a Board Member of Built by Nature and on the Advisory Council for the Center for Business and Human Rights at NYU Stern. Amol’s work has appeared in the Washington Post, Huffington Post, Forbes Corporate Social Responsibility and Leadership Section, CSRWire, the Guardian, National Public Radio (NPR), as well as in various legal journals and periodicals. Amol holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with Honors in International Law from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
