USAID recently launched a new and innovative partnership opportunity that seeks to address one of the biggest challenges we face in the education sector — the education financing gap. By 2030 there will be a $1.8 trillion gap in financing for education in low- and middle-income countries, and the majority of this gap must be made up through domestic resource mobilization and expanded private sector investment. There is both a huge need and a tremendous opportunity for private investment in the education sector in emerging markets.
This new partnership opportunity — an Addendum to the Global Development Alliance (GDA) Annual Program Statement (APS) — is calling for Concept Papers that propose activities that will stimulate financing and innovation in the education sector while also advancing the priorities of USAID’s 2018 Education Policy in selected Sub-Saharan African countries. During this webinar , you will hear learn from USAID leadership and experts in the field of education finance about the following:
- Why and how USAID is prioritizing private sector engagement and investment, and how this new focus aligns with USAID’s policies and objectives in international education.
- What USAID is looking for in this new partnership opportunity.
- The process, timeline, and requirements for submitting a concept paper.
- Answers to any and all questions you may have about this new partnership opportunity.
