On February 15, Convergence, in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Kigali and Kigali International Financial Center (KIFC), will host the Rwanda Blended Finance Forum in Kigali.
This full day event brings together experts, practitioners, and thought leaders to explore innovative approaches in blending public and private funds for sustainable development.
The Forum is designed to:
- Provide an understanding on the use of concessional financing to catalyze commercial capital towards development objectives.
- Discuss how Rwanda can mobilize private sector knowledge and capital by using blended finance approaches highlighting current activities and opportunities going forward.
- Provide examples of good practice blended finance transactions that have taken place in the region, which will enable participants to identify key elements needed for successful adoption of blended finance transactions in Rwanda.
- Examine the potential of Rwanda as an emerging financial services hub in attracting more blended finance and capital towards development objectives.
- Generate networking opportunities amongst stakeholders such as the Government of Rwanda, donor agencies, impact investors, financial institutions and other agencies such as intermediaries and UN Agencies.
