We are pleased to announce that our board member David Creighton has been appointed Chairman of our Board of Directors. David currently acts as Senior Advisor at EMPEA and co-founded Cordiant in Montreal.
“It’s a great moment for us to have David step forward as Chairman, given his private sector investing background. We’ve worked hard to help donors and other concessional players understand and make best use of blended finance for stretching their own funds. We’re at an inflection point where we need to drive equally hard on the private sector side. This is the time to push mainstream investors to work with these parties to create investible structures at scale,” says Joan Larrea, CEO of Convergence. “We look forward to receiving more of the guidance and insight we have already come to expect from David during his long tenure on our board.”
"I look forward to assisting the Convergence team to realize the vision of crowding-in private sector investors for development financing in the emerging markets,"says David Creighton. "Having spent most of my career working with institutional investors and, more recently, with international aid agencies, in early forms of blended finance, it’s now time to move this to the mainstream."
David will be replacing Walt Macnee, who will stay on as a board member.
