This report is concerned with mobilizing greater amounts of private and public sector capital to close the existent financing gap for climate and nature-based interventions. Mainly focused on financing sustainable infrastructure, the author outlines the primary challenges to greater public-private collaborative investment into climate solutions, and presents the case for blended finance as a key route to provoke and enable this investment. The author also poses a series a recommendations to engender scale in the blended climate finance market, including replication of proven and successful structures and using portfolio investment approaches for better risk mitigation.
