Small Island Developing States (SIDS) face unique social, economic, and environmental vulnerabilities, and must rapidly accelerate their transition to sustainable economies. Many SIDS are exploring innovative financing mechanisms, including blended finance, for this transition. Blended finance will be an essential tool in supporting the regional blue economy transition, scaling investment opportunities, and financing nature-based solutions.
This virtual panel discussion explored the trends, opportunities, and challenges for blended finance in the Caribbean, and discuss successful examples of blended finance structures and instruments deployed to-date. The session will concluded with an open Q&A.
