Background
As blended finance continues to mobilize capital for climate adaptation and resilience across Asia, a critical challenge is coming into sharper focus: success depends not only on mobilising capital, but on how risk is understood, structured, and managed within transactions. This closed-door roundtable will bring together senior leaders from banking, development finance, insurance, and project development to explore how risk is currently addressed in real-world deals, why insurance remains underutilized despite its strong potential, and what practical solutions could help change that.
Focusing on climate and resilient infrastructure, MSME finance, and agriculture and food systems, the session is designed to be forward-looking, solution-oriented, and grounded in real market experience—moving beyond diagnosis to identify how insurance can better support and strengthen blended finance in practice.
