In partnership with the SDG Impact Finance Initiative (SIFI) and Route 17, the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) has released a report that identifies the structural challenges hindering the growth of blended finance and proposes actionable solutions to overcome them.
The report outlines key obstacles to scaling blended finance, including high transaction costs and a lack of transparency, which erode trust, as well as mispriced risk and outdated regulatory systems that restrict investment in emerging and developing economies (EMDEs).
To address these issues, the report recommends five priority areas for reform to help unlock greater investment through blended finance.
This report is authored by Perrine Toledano, Ana M. Camelo Vega, and Tucker Wilke from CCSI.
