This report characterizes and evaluates the performance of six innovative finance approaches in the Latin America and Caribbean region, including blended finance, in addressing the financing shortfall to funding biodiversity protection ecosystem services.
The paper outlines some of the central benefits, challenges and common elements of each financing approach, and provides case study analyses to showcase their successful implementation across the LAC region.
